Phacellophora camtschatica est jaune pâle et possède un système digestif jaune. Grâce à son apparence, il porte les noms anglais de méduse aux œufs frits («fried egg egg») et de méduses au jaune d'œuf («egg yolk jelly»). Le corps de la méduse a un diamètre maximal de soixante centimètres. La méduse comporte seize grappes de quelques dizaines de tentacules, chacune d’une taille maximale de six mètres.
