설명
Haemulon plumierii는 관상어로 인기가 많다. 노란색과 파란색 줄무늬가 있지만 주변 환경과 일치하도록 몸의 색을 바꿀 수 있다. 새우, 다른 갑각류, 연체동물 등을 먹고 자라며 상어와 큰 물고기에게 잡아먹힌다. 인두치를 목구멍 뒤로 갈아서 끙끙거리는 소리를 낸다.
