Description
The scissortail sergeant (Abudefduf sexfasciatus) lives around tropical coral reefs throughout the Indo-Pacific. It can also be seen in many public aquariums. Female scissortail sergeants typically deposit their eggs with a male and depart. The males guard their collections ferociously until they hatch, although they have been seen occasionally cannibalizing some of the eggs.
