Description
The ocean surgeon (Acanthurus bahianus) live in the western Atlantic Ocean's tropics. They feed on algae in and around coral reefs, so coral health is important to their future as a species. Though edible, ocean surgeon are only occasionally sold in local markets along the coast. More often they are used as bait for more desirable game fish, or sold in the aquarium trade.
