Description
Guineafowl puffer (Arothron meleagris) is a pufferfish native to Indo-Pacific and Eastern Pacific. The spotted black-and-white color pattern reminds of Guineafowl, however, a yellow variety also exists. The skin has a sandpaper texture thanks to numerous small denticles. When the fish inflates itself in defense, the denticles become prominent. The tissues contain the highly-toxic tetrodotoxin.
