Description
Blackspotted puffer (Arothron nigropunctatus) is a tropical marine species of pufferfish found in the Indo-Pacific Region. It is also known as a 'dog-faced puffer' because of its large head with an elongated snout. Blackspotted puffer is diurnal and solitary. Like other members of the family, it can inflate its body when threatened, and its tissue contains the deadly bacterial toxin tetrodotoxin.
