 Alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula) is a North American freshwater predatory fish. It is said that it can reach a stunning length of 3 m, making it the biggest Gar and one of the largest freshwater fish in North America. Famed as a trophy catch and sold as a food fish in US Southern markets, alligator gar has been wiped out from much of its original range due to human targeting.
