Widespread throughout the tropical reefs of the Indo-Pacific, blue and gold fusilier (Caesio caerulaurea) is a gregarious species nearly always found among its own kind, or mixing with other fusiliers. Juveniles are sometimes used as bait fish, giving them commercial importance in the regions to which they are endemic.
