The crevalle jack (Caranx hippos) is a schooling fish that inhabits waters of varying salinities. It is among the most abundant species in the Atlantic and is a very important commercial fish in Europe and Africa. This fish species does carry a risk of causing ciguatera poisoning in humans who eat it, however.
