Description
The atlantic spadefish (Chaetodipterus faber) is a blunt-nosed ocean fish that live in shallow, brackish waters. They primarily eat bottom-dwelling invertebrates like mollusks, crustaceans, and annelids. A single female atlantic spadefish can release as many as one million eggs per spawning season. The larvae hatch after just 24 hours but continue to feed on the yolk for a further two days.
