Description
Striped snakehead (Channa striata) is a freshwater snakehead fish native to East and Southeast Asia. During the wet season, it migrates from rivers and lakes into the flooded fields, and if stranded there into the dry season may survive by digging itself into mud. This is one of the most common fish consumed for food in Indochina, Thailand, and Malaysia, with great economic significance throughout its native region.
