Description
Description
This sea fish is endemic to the coast of Namibia and South Africa, from Swakopmund to Durban. In Afrikaans he is called klipuier. The fins under the body are adapted to a kind of disk that serves as a suction cup and with which the animal can suck on the rocks. When a fisherman hooks the fish, the fish will suck in such a way that the line will break before the fish comes off the rocks. The fish can adapt its color to its environment. Once dead, the color becomes reddish. The fish grows up to 30 cm in size and lives in tidal pools. The animal will rarely go deeper than 10 m.
