Description
A small and silvery fish, pacific herring (Clupea pallasii) is a commercially important food species on both sides of the northern Pacific. During the 1990s, overfishing led to a population collapse and all commercial activity is now strictly regulated. Wild prevalence of this fish is now reported to be slowly increasing.
