The yellowtail wrasse is a popular fish in the aquarium trade. This inhabitant of coral reefs needs a large aquarium with plenty of space for swimming. As it matures, it can become destructive and hostile towards small fish and invertebrates. The yellowtail wrasse is fished commercially, but carries a caution as it may be contaminated with the toxins that cause ciguatera poisoning.
