One of a kind, the rock scallop is the only species in its genus. Attaching itself to the sea floor, it lives off the coast of the Pacific Ocean and can be found from Canada to California. With a lifespan of up to 25 years, the rock scallop spends its sedentary lifestyle filtering plankton and reproducing offspring.
