It is the largest beetle snail on earth and can grow up to 35 centimeters. The shell plates are completely encapsulated. The plates have no tegmentum and are white. The hem is leathery and covered with spines arranged in groups. The hem is gray-brown. The species is found in the Aleoetic region (northern part of the Pacific Ocean) and in the Japanese region.
