The common sea-bream (Diplodus sargus), also called Bindenbrasse or Giant Common Bream (subspecies D. sargus sargus), is a sea bream species that is found in several subspecies in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the eastern Atlantic, the central Atlantic around the islands of Madeira, St. Helena and Ascension, as well as occurring in the southwest Indian Ocean.
