Description
Yellow fin mojarra is commonly found around coral reefs, and these friendly fish are easily approached by divers. Mostly inhabiting sea sand bottoms and brackish water, it has been known to occasionally enter freshwater. Yellow fin mojarra is not used for human consumption, due to the poor quality and relation to ciguatera poisoning, but is harvested as a material for a fish meal.
