Rock blackfish (Girella elevata) is a ray-finned marine sea chub native to the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The rock blackfish is an omnivore and can live to be nearly half a century old. The fish inhabits rocky waters near caves or under ledges by the shores of Australia and New Zealand, where it is often observed by divers.
