Tomtate grunt (Haemulon aurolineatum) is a grunt fish that lives in waters of the western Atlantic Ocean. The tomtate grunt is collected for public aquariums and also consumed by humans, often sold salted at fish markets. Like all reef fish, it carries a risk for ciguatera poisoning. This species is not considered threatened or endangered.
