Slippery dick (Halichoeres bivittatus) is a small, reef-associated wrasse species abundant in tropical and subtropical waters of the western Atlantic. All individuals are born as females and transition to become fully functional males as they grow older. Each phase has its own color pattern as well. These unique colorations make it an interesting addition to saltwater aquariums.
