Shanny (Lipophrys pholis) is a combtooth blenny species most commonly found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. The shanny is an intertidal species capable of remaining out of water and sheltering in rock crevices and under seaweed. The male of this species changes color during breeding and can range from all black to white and pale blue.
