Description
The american bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) is a frog species native to eastern North America. This is the frog most commonly used for dissection instruction in biology classes in North American classrooms, due to the similarity of their internal organ systems to many animal species. Unfortunately, this species is becoming invasive in the western United States, outcompeting the native frogs on that side of the Rocky Mountains.
