Description
Mangrove snapper (Lutjanus griseus) can be found in the tropics both in mangroves and other shallow waters as long as they have some cover to hide in. Mangrove snapper is a popular game fish, and has white, flaky flesh (note that cases of ciguatera poisoning have been reported). Interestingly, in the Bahamas, they have been spotted eating small bats that happen to drop into the water.
