Description
One of the largest turban snails in California, the wavy turban snail inhabits shallow waters of rocky shores. Harvested by divers and sold to restaurants, it is an important commercial sea snail in southern California and Baja California where it's known by the name "wavalone". In Mexico, the wavy turban snail is sold as canned seafood under the trademark name "caracol panocha".
