Ocean sunfish is a huge marine fish; the largest ever recorded was as heavy as a pickup truck - 5000 lb. Thi species is widely distributed throughout temperate and tropical waters around the world. They are often netted as bycatch by those in pursuit of swordfish and more marketable species, although the Mola mola is enjoyed in some Asian dishes and does well commercially in those countries.
