Description
A powerful predator and one of the largest sharks in the ocean, the lemon shark is distinguished by the yellowish color of its leathery skin, which disguises it from intended prey. Most commonly found in the Atlantic waters, they are also present in the Pacific and sometimes will migrate into fresher waters. A threatened species, the lemon shark is highly sought after by some commercial fisheries for its meat and fins.
