Description
Named for the blue coloring of the head in breeding males, bluehead chub (Nocomis leptocephalus) is a freshwater fish endemic to the southeastern United States. Fisherman sometimes use it as bucket bait, which has unintentionally spread the species to several drainage basins where it is not native.
