Crimson banded wrasse (Notolabrus gymnogenis) is a colorful species of wrasse endemic to Eastern Australia. Its color changes through its lifetime, as well as its sex - like many species of wrasse, each individuals is born female; when a male dies, one female from his harem morphs into the new dominant male. Mature males are distinguished by their fiery red fins.
