 Description

Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) live in the north Pacific Ocean and the surrounding river systems. To spawn, they must return to the river where they were born, in a migration which has been a boon to local fishing peoples for thousands of years. Today the chinook salmon is a highly-sought after fish in many markets. Its meat may be white or red, and the latter sells for a much higher price.
