Description
Paralichthys dentatus starts its life cycle as a bilateral fish with the left and right side of the body being equal. As it matures, it starts to rely more on one side of the body and eventually starts swimming laterally. The populations of summer flounder have a great commercial value, being the most important flounder in the western North Atlantic. It's also a notable target for recreational fishing.
