Description
The dash-and-dot goatfish (Parupeneus barberinus) is most readily identifiable by its long black stripe and twin barbels. Found along reef flats, it is gregarious during the day, while at night individuals become solitary and sleep alone. They can be kept in large home aquariums, but require an experienced caretaker. They have been known to jump out of tanks.
