Description
Description
This species, which is up to 15 mm in size, is found on seaweeds and feeds on algae growth, as well as on the seaweed itself. Adult specimens that have dull chalky shells dig burrows in the adherents of the algae that weaken and eventually tear them loose. It often has a territory. They settle immovably in a hollow in the rock when the tide goes down. The cap-shaped shell is thin and translucent amber with shiny blue spots.
