Description
The sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) is the largest living toothed whale, and has the largest brain of any animal known. Its bulbous head is dominated by its spermaceti organ that produces and receives echolocation sounds. The echoes allow it to hunt in dark waters deep below the surface. The sperm whale is the only known predator of adult giant squid.
