Divers in the in weedy reefs around Australia may encounter the brightly-colored males of the patrician wrasse (Pictilabrus laticlavius) species swimming curiously with them. The females might be missed, as their colors are almost opposite, and rather duller. This fact is even more remarkable given that these fish are all born female and biologically transition to male later in life.
