Description
Thornback guitarfish (Platyrhinoidis triseriata) is a bottom-dwelling species of ray endemic to, and commonly found in, the shallow inshore waters of the American Pacific - mostly around California. They hunt along the ocean floor, sometimes burying themselves in the sediments to lie in wait, and possess electroreceptors that help them sense prey. They can often be found in public aquariums.
