Description
The lagoon triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus) lives in reef zones throughout the Indo-Pacific. Native Hawaiians call it humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa. They are extremely territorial toward members of their own species. Research suggests that lagoon triggerfish have trichromatic vision similar to humans, but the specific cells that evolved to capture those wavelengths differ from our own.
