Description
Divers flock to coral reefs hoping for a sight of the famously beautiful, iridescent queen parrotfish (Scarus vetula). During the day, it consumes coral (possibly contributing to reef destruction) and creating sand with the indigestible material. At night, it rests on the seabed and weaves itself a covering of mucus to hide and protect itself from potential predators.
