Description
The oddly-named lookdown (Selene vomer) lives in shallow coastal waters with sandy or rocky seafloors. They are sometimes observed forming large shoals, but often break into small groups or pairs. Their permanently downward-facing skull is most apparent when observing the curvature of the spine. They're not fished for food, but are collected for the aquarium trade.
