The fallfish (Semotilus corporalis) is North America's largest species of minnow. Though minnows are typically known for their small size, fallfish as long as 19 cm have been recorded. They live primarily in swift-moving streams and ponds. Before the introduction of trout and bass, fallfish were the apex predators of many small river systems.
