Description
The greater amberjack is a marine fish, often found near reefs. It is a popular commercial and game fish, but in some regions is associated with ciguatera poisoning, from the toxins it accumulates in its flesh. These toxins are produced by dinoflagellates - the type of planktons which attach themselves to marine algae eaten by the fish.
