The mandarinfish (Synchiropus splendidus) is native to the warm waters of the western Pacific, where it searches the reefs for tiny creatures to eat. Unsurprisingly, given their bright coloring, mandarinfish are popular aquarium additions. They do require special care and should only be adopted by experienced aquarists.
