Description
Cunner (Tautogolabrus adspersus) is a northwestern Atlantic wrasse species. It prefers areas with "messy" bottoms - seaweeds, dock structures, or sunken ships and spends wintertime under rocks in a state of dormancy. Often found in mixed groups with tautogs (Tautoga onitis), it likes to feed on these larger fish's leftovers. Harvested only for the aquarium trade.
