Description
Palometa (Trachinotus goodei) is a marine gamefish found in the Atlantic Ocean. Only occasionally harvested for market sale, the palometa has caused ciguatera poisoning in humans. This species was wrongfully blamed for a large attack on sunbathing humans in Argentina in 2013. The fish that actually perpetrated the attacks was a piranha.
