Description
The leopard shark (Triakis semifasciata) inhabits the Pacific coastal waters of North America. It commonly patrols intertidal mudflats to feed on crabs, clams, shrimp, spoon worms, and small fish. Though they inhabit areas frequented by humans, they pose no danger. Like many sharks, leopard sharks give birth to live young. They're also common sights in public aquarium displays.
